Downtown Façade Improvement Program

The City of Patterson is launching a new and exciting incentive program for downtown businesses, Downtown Façade Improvement Program. The Downtown Façade Improvement Program will provide financial assistance to commercial property and business owners to make façade improvements to buildings located in the downtown area.

The program supports Objective 1.2 of the Strategic Plan and Recommendation 3 of the Downtown Master Plan which calls for creating incentives to encourage the renovation and reuse of existing commercial buildings in the downtown area.

The goal of the program is to:

  • Facilitate commercial revitalization;
  • Stimulate private investment in downtown;
  • Enhance the appearance of the streetscape;
  • Generate shopping and a pleasant walking environment by improving the visual aesthetics of commercial building facades; and
  • Reduce vacancies in the downtown area.


Who is Eligible?

Downtown property and business owners, within the downtown area boundaries will be eligible to apply. There are two grants available:

  • Storefront Improvement Grant
    1. Up to 50% match, not exceeding $20,000
  • Sign/Awning Grant
    1. Up to 50% match, not exceeding $2,000

Complete the grant application form by Thursday, October 2, 2025. Applications can be downloaded below:
