The City's skilled maintenance mechanics ensure the safety and functionality of equipment across all City Departments. They oversee the maintenance of the City's diverse fleet, spanning from passenger cars to fire apparatus and heavy-duty tractors. Additionally, they draft specifications for new acquisitions and advise on vehicle and equipment replacements.
The fleet division maintains a total of 185 vehicles and large pieces of equipment. This includes utility trucks, electric vehicles, and Fire Engines. The shop is also responsible for the maintenance of non-rolling stock such as stationary emergency generators.
