Sanitary Mains & Laterals

The sewer mains running underground through the city are known as the sanitary sewer collection system.  The crew from this division is responsible for maintaining over 63 miles of sewer mains and 1,169 manholes, along with 2 sewer pump stations.  The City of Patterson is responsible for maintaining each property’s sewer lateral from the sewer main to the property line. 

**The city will maintain the lateral only if there is a cleanout installed to the city standards at the property line.
